Teaching Staff

Credentialing Rate Declining - Active Area of Focus

Roy Cloud's fully credentialed rate dropped from 86.7% in 2021-22 to 68.5% in 2023-24 - a steady three-year decline. The misassignment rate rose from near zero to 24.4% over the same period, including 35.5% of EL classes taught by misassigned teachers. While still above the district average of 60%, the downward trajectory is a concern the school and district are actively working to address.

School Facilities

Roy Cloud School was originally constructed in 1957 and completely modernized in 1998, with further renovations in 2000 through Measures A & B. Two portable classrooms were added in 2006-07 and a third in summer 2009. An amphitheater and Learning Garden are newer additions. The most recent FIT inspection was completed December 4, 2025.

Overall Facility Rating: Good

The campus earned an overall rating of Good on the December 2025 FIT inspection. (Note: The FIT form also has the Exemplary box checked — likely a data entry issue in the original inspection document. The school's condition is consistent with a Good rating based on the work orders identified.) The campus includes 35 classrooms, a STEAM Lab, library, cafeteria/multipurpose room, staff lounge, administrative offices, two playgrounds, and a play field.
