Teacher Leading Class at Roy Cloud

Meet Our School Leadership

Ms. Melissa Bowdoin | Principal

It is an honor to introduce myself as the principal of Roy Cloud School and a proud member of this extraordinary school community.

As a seasoned educator, having spent my professional career in both the elementary and middle school sector, I am eager to continue to lead Roy Cloud’s TK-8th grade community and to welcome our new families each year. In addition to my role as an educator, I am first and foremost a person who cherishes relationships. I look forward to cultivating strong bonds with all community members, and getting to know you and your children as valued members of this wonderful community. Roy Cloud is a stellar school. A school I am so proud to be a part of. I look forward to introducing myself and my family to the many wonderful people that call Roy Cloud “home.”

The 2025-2026 school year will mark my 20th year in education. I have served many communities in many different capacities. Some roles include: first grade educator, fourth grade educator, middle school science and DesignThinking educator, Curriculum Specialist, Athletic Director, Dean of Students, Teachers Union President, and as Principal. Teaching holds a very special place in my heart, but it is the position of school leader where I have been most fulfilled in my life’s work. The role of principal provides me the chance to work collaboratively with teachers on a daily basis, while also remaining connected to the students, and their families. I firmly believe that the partnership between home and school helps to build confidence in our students to use their strengths and skills to shape their future and the future of our local and global community.

Mr. Jason Koenigsberg | Assistant Principal

My name is Jason Koenigsberg and it is an honor to introduce myself as the Vice Principal of Roy Cloud and be a member of this outstanding school and community. This will be my second year in this position helping our teachers lead your children towards extraordinary accomplishments in academics and grow into becoming well rounded and civic minded citizens who strive to make a positive difference in their local, national, and global communities.

This is my seventeenth year in education having worked as a teacher and a Director of Special Education back in New Jersey. My goal this year is to continue the work we started making sure that Roy Cloud is an inclusive and positive climate for everyone. I want all of our scholars to feel valued, heard, and connected to their school. That feeling of connectedness is the key to a happy and successful school culture.

I will always have my door open for anyone that wants to discuss any issues that they have because I am a lifelong learner and learned a lot last year from students, parents, and teachers and I am looking forward to continuing to build and foster the relationships I made last year while also looking forward to creating new ones as well. I pride myself in maintaining positive relationships and building a foundation of communication and trust so that everyone knows I have their children’s best interests at the heart of all of my decisions. I am so excited and proud to be here at Roy Cloud. Go Thunderbolts!
