Our District's Mission

RCSD creates a safe and supportive, inspirational and rigorous, joyful and inclusive environment for all learners

Transitional Kindergarten (TK)

The TK class provides more opportunities for social-emotional and language development, including mathematics functions through interactive, hands-on activities, which helps students develop and build upon existing skills to be successful in kindergarten, and stimulating classroom centers, which focus on science, mathematics, writing, arts and crafts, community role play, etc.

Meet Roy Cloud

Roy Cloud School is a Kindergarten through 8th grade neighborhood school providing all student with a well-balanced, challenging, student-centered learning environment. Character and social and emotional learning development are a top priority.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten is a time for students to get acclimated to school, make friends, and have fun learning while doing. Time in the classroom–and recess time–builds relationships, hones lifelong skills, and fosters a positive attitude toward learning. Fun hands-on enrichment activities in math and science, skill building in language arts, early digital literacy opportunities, and introductions to arts and music are provided to students as they learn the structures of the classroom.

Our STEAM Program

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is the integration of computer science and engineering across all content areas such as language arts, science, and social studies. The goal of the program is to prepare students to be complex problem-solvers ready to meet the needs of a rapidly changing world.

Our School Garden

Roy Cloud’s garden program builds hands-on connections to science, nutrition, and health lessons that directly tie into State curriculum standards.

What Goes Into a School Meal? Science, Labor, and Love

Dietitians and all menu planners strive to balance three key elements--nutrition, the students' palate, and cost.
